Healthcare Innovation
and Community Responsibility

During the COVID-19 pandemic, AHMA showcased remarkable adaptability by launching the Ayurline Teleconsultation platform, ensuring patients could access treatment remotely. It also arranged for Ayurvedic medicines to be delivered through a partnership with India Post, making care accessible even in remote regions. The Sainik Mitram Scheme reflects AHMA’s social responsibility, offering medical assistance to defense personnel and their families.

Standardizing Ayurvedic
Treatments for National Insurance

In 2010, AHMA played a pioneering role in submitting standardized Ayurvedic treatment protocols to the General Insurance Council, marking a significant step toward integrating Ayurveda into mainstream health insurance systems. The formation of AYUSH Aikyavedi under AHMA’s leadership emphasized unity among traditional medicine sectors to collectively address challenges and counter misinformation.

Ensuring Safety, Credibility
& Sustainability in Ayurveda

AHMA has also contributed significantly to upholding standards in the field through a legal victory against quackery, ensuring public safety and the credibility of Ayurveda. Its collaborative efforts with the Pollution Control Board helped reclassify Ayurveda hospitals into the Green Category, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practice. Establishing a dedicated Legal Cell and Help Desk provided valuable support to Ayurvedic practitioners navigating professional or legal challenges.

Building Capacity and Ensuring Quality
in the Ayurvedic Healthcare Sector

The organization has actively promoted capacity building through ATAB Training Sessions, focusing on upskilling the Ayurvedic workforce. Negotiations with the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) helped develop Ayurveda-specific accreditation standards, ensuring quality and credibility within the sector. Community-level initiatives like the Arogya Jagratha Samithi demonstrate AHMA’s effort to spread health awareness at the grassroots level.

Building a Future-Ready
Ayurvedic Ecosystem

Participation in the AYUSH-64 clinical trials further reflects AHMA’s role in promoting evidence-based Ayurvedic practice. The association has conducted MSME awareness workshops to encourage entrepreneurship among practitioners and collaborated with CII for health tourism development, promoting Ayurveda’s global potential. Its sensitization programs on health insurance empanelment have helped Ayurvedic hospitals gain wider accessibility for patients.

AHMA’s Compassion
in Times of Crisis

Most recently, AHMA’s Wayanad Mitram initiative, launched in response to the July 2024 landslide disaster, provided essential Ayurvedic treatment and relief to affected communities — a testament to the organization’s compassion and responsiveness during crises.
