National Ayurveda Day Celebration 2026 to Be Held in Kannur

National Ayurveda Day 2026 was celebrated on 23 September 2026 at Chamber Hall, Kannur, under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.”

The programme was jointly organised by the North Malabar Chamber of Commerce (NMCC) Women’s Wing, AHMA Kannur, and North Malabar Tourism Organisation (NOMTO).

The celebration brought together Ayurveda practitioners, healthcare professionals, business leaders, tourism stakeholders, students and members of the public to highlight the relevance of Ayurveda in promoting health, wellness and sustainable living.

A Celebration of Wellness, Wisdom & Sustainable Living

Ayurveda, India’s traditional science of life and holistic wellbeing, places emphasis on prevention, balanced living, mindful nutrition and harmony between the body, mind and environment.

National Ayurveda Day provides an opportunity to celebrate this rich heritage and encourage greater awareness of Ayurvedic principles in contemporary life. The 2026 celebration focused on the role of Ayurveda in nurturing health, preventing illness and supporting healthier and more balanced lifestyles.

Programme Highlights

Interactive Session: Ayurveda for Women’s Health

A special interactive session explored the importance of Ayurveda in promoting women’s health, wellbeing and quality of life across different stages of life.

  • Dr. Asha Prapanch – Chief Physician, Athasree Ayurveda Hospital

  • Dr. Tulasi Kesavan – Chief Medical Officer, Kesavatheeram Ayurveda Hospital

Special Session: AYUSH AHAAR for a Healthier Tomorrow

The special session focused on the connection between food, health and wellbeing through the traditional wisdom of Ayurveda.

The AYUSH AHAAR Food Pavilion Experience showcased the principles of traditional nutrition through a specially curated food pavilion, offering participants an opportunity to explore the role of mindful and balanced food practices in a healthy lifestyle.
