AHMA Jagratha Samiti is a special committee formed in every institution functioning under the Kerala Ayurveda Hospital Management Association. The foundation of this committee began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when each Ayurveda hospital became the central point of coordinated activities. The committee gathered the support of local cultural leaders, social workers, political activists, public representatives, as well as prominent personalities from the fields of arts and sports. All of them were included as part of the hospital’s development and support activities.
Since representatives from diverse sectors of society associated with each hospital actively participate in the work of this committee, the Jagratha Samiti is able to organize effective health awareness classes, medical camps, preventive health programs, and various social welfare initiatives consistently. As a result, every Ayurveda hospital under this committee has been able to implement meaningful community-service projects that reflect and reinforce their responsibility towards society.
In addition, the committee holds meetings regularly. The Ayurvedic knowledge, ideas, and conclusions emerging from these sessions are communicated and distributed to the public. This sharing of information contributes greatly to the development of Ayurvedic awareness in society, especially supporting developmental initiatives connected to local self-government institutions. The core purpose behind forming the Jagratha Samiti is to ensure the inclusion, participation, and benefit of the larger community in Ayurveda-related development.
At present, nearly 200 Jagratha Samiti are functioning actively across Kerala, and as part of their activities, a wide range of services including pain and palliative care programs are being successfully implemented.
